Sound Healing with Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing

Sound Healing Therapy combined with Restorative Yoga, & Reiki is the most delightful way to restore the body to strength and releasing pain. With the use of tuning forks, singing bowls, gongs, tingsha bells and Reiki, Sharon enhances the magic of restorative yoga. There is no need for flexibility for this practice. Your body will correct itself with gravity and postures supported with pillows, blankets, blocks and bolsters. You will feel like a king or queen being restored back to wholeness the delightful way!

What is the difference between a yoga class and therapeutic yoga?
A yoga class is generally a set of postures and pranayama taught in a linear fashion by a yoga instructor. Therapeutic Yoga uses postures, pranayama and meditation to effect specific change in an individual. This small group class will give you the opportunity to experience what a private therapeutic session is like. This class is comprised of techniques to bring vitality and resilience to your body, mind and spirit. Adjustments and modifications are made in real time according to the most present needs of the group. Pre-registration is encouraged, especially if you have specific requests. Led By Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist Blakey Hastings with
Sound Therapy with tuning forks, reiki and a Sound immersion by Sharon Kachel.
Blakey brings her gifts as an intuitive energy healer and her knowledge of the human body to offer a nurturing and rejuvenative practice.
Combining this with Sharon’s intuitive, skilled and loving talents make a delightful Friday afternoon!

Andrea:
Yoga & Sound Healing

So many people today operate with their fight or flight “switch” stuck in the on position, never really feeling safe from their everyday stressors. As those stressors pile up, they create imbalance, dis-ease, and eventually pain.

My name is Andrea, and I came to yoga 4 years ago as a stressed out mom with lots of racing thoughts! I enjoyed the quiet and calmness of the practice. I liked that it was a chance to focus on myself, and learned so much about my body. I practiced regularly, and soon after began yoga teacher training. The energetic aspect of yoga, and all things Reiki, Angelic Reiki, and IET (Integrated Energy Therapy) are fascinating to me.

My vision for someone attending my yoga class is to learn how to calm their mind so that they can focus on their body. As you focus on the physical sensations in your body while moving in and out of gentle yoga poses, it helps you to release any blockages of stuck energy, and move energy faster or slower depending what your body calls for.

Gentle yoga allows anyone to practice, REGARDLESS of your level of flexibility. Very often I hear – “I’m not flexible enough to do yoga”, but there is no requirement of being flexible! Just bring with you an open and inquisitive mind! Your body will open in time.

Pairing gentle yoga and sound healing makes the experience exponentially better! At the end of the class, while you relax in restorative (easy) yoga poses, Sharon uses tuning forks on your body and I provide Reiki if you wish.

This class is so relaxing and a great method of self-care. Hope to see you there!

Jesse:
I’ve always been curious as to who I am and why I think and feel the way that I do. This curiosity is the reason I went to school for Psychology and ultimately ended up enmeshed in the practice and lifestyle of yoga. I completed a 200-hour training in Vinyasa in 2016 and followed up with an additional 300-hour training in Hatha in Rishikesh, India (the Yoga capital of the world). Since then I’ve been continuing my studies, deepening my practice, and teaching all that I’ve gathered along the way. Yoga has been my medicine in life; it has helped me overcome my struggles with depression and anxiety, and it has helped me to find a way of life that is wholesome, nourishing, and healing. Becoming aware of how the body, breath, and mind function and interoperation is the foundation to heath and well-being, and I like to emphasize awareness in my classes. With breath being the central focal point in my classes, I aim to help guide students’ awareness throughout their body while remaining lovingly aware of anything that surfaces in the mind. It is my hope that being present, attentive, and aware enables students to recognize how their thoughts, speech, and actions are either contributing to health or to disease. With the cultivation of heightened awareness, we realize that we have the power to choose that which is wholesome ad which fosters well-being. We may never be able to control what happens in life, but we can control ourselves. This, I feel, is the key to peace and harmony.
